Oh joy, it's Easter

Just another day to me, but to the kids (including the missus), it's a day for presents. I'm not bothered about getting eggs orSimpsons Easter Egg .. well.. anything, but I've had an egg given to me anyway and a pair of The Simpsons boxer shorts. I'm not a strictly religious person, but I do feel that people really do forget what Easter is really supposed to be about, and it doesn't involve a chocolate egg giving bunny.

I need to see about getting a new TV though, but I don't fancy getting a 28" which seems to be the norm these days, it's a bit bigger than I need, but I suppose I'll just have to save up that bit extra to get an HD Ready type TV of which a 23" would suffice. I guess that the Xbox 360 would benefit more from having an HD Ready TV and if I can find a decently priced one with Freeview, even better. I'm kind of missing not being able to play for a few hours on my consoles due to the existing crappy TV switching itself off after about 30 minutes, I'm not too sure exactly what is wrong with it and I'm not particularly bothered about getting it fixed (if it even is repairable), so I'll just hold out until I've saved up enough to get a new one.

As I now finish off to go and sort out a 4-in-line surge protector with a longer lead, so that I can plug in my chargers again, I bid thee a Happy Easter and see you next time...

GTA SA PC WTF LOL

I completed Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the PS2 ages ago, not 100% with all tags tagged and whatever, but the main game completed. That's why just the other day, I thought I'd take a look at the PC version to see if it was any different and strangely enough, even though I've only played the first half a dozen missions, it's not too different. One thing I was a bit disappointed with was that it doesn't quite support the Xbox 360 pad. It's fine for moving around and doing stuff, but the right analogue stick doesn't work and would be ideal for looking around if it did work in the same way as on the PS2. I've kinda got used to using the keyboard and mouse now, I'm pretty handy with the keyboard when driving and can pull of some good driving skills which I couldn't do with a pad, so I guess I'll just stick to that!

How to change the R4DS theme.ini

Putting a skin on the R4DS is easy, it's just the matter of making 4 8bit or 24bit bitmap (.bmp) images, naming them correctly and transferring them onto the R4 (well, Micro SD card). Making the skin 'work' better is how the text looks and that's where the theme.ini file comes in. In that file are the 'color' commands to tell the R4 what colour text and stuff should be and this post is to show you which 'color' is for what. You can download a basic ini file from here which has the info in the pic on the right there (click for bigger pic) --> There isn't a specific way to 'tell' you how to change the theme.ini, it's just a case of opening it up in notepad and changing the values of each hex number, there's a chart below which has all the basic colours, but if you're after a more obscure colour, using a paint/photo imaging program would be more useful.
