The Great Size Divide: Why XXL and 2XL Are Not the Same

Image
It’s a tale as old as time, or at least as old as ready-to-wear clothing: you grab what you think is your size, only to find it either swimming on you or restricting your every move. This confusion is amplified when we delve into the seemingly interchangeable world of XXL and 2XL. Many shoppers, and even some retailers, use these terms synonymously, but a closer look reveals a subtle yet significant difference that can make or break your wardrobe choices. The core of the discrepancy lies in the sizing conventions adopted by different manufacturers and for different types of clothing. Generally, XXL is an extension of standard alpha sizing (S, M, L, XL), while 2XL often signifies a true "plus" or "big and tall" size. "I used to just assume they were the same," admits Sarah Jenkins, a 34-year-old marketing professional. "I'd order an XXL t-shirt online, and sometimes it would fit perfectly, and other times it would be ridiculously small, like a r...

Vanessa Hudgens in nude photo shocker!

Vanessa HudgensWho? Well, she apparently stars in Disney's tedious High School Musical films as "Gabriella, the sweet, innocent science geek" and has recently had a nude photo shown on the internet.

What makes it such a 'scandal' is down to her status of the character she plays and the fact that it's a Disney film aimed at a young audience, but what I don't understand is, why bring so much attention to it and why have so many parents already seen the photo? How did they find the photo and I suppose a more important question is, why were they searching for it in the first place?
"She's damaged," Renee Rollins-Greenberg, a Los Angeles mother of two, told Reuters. "She's got this teeny-bop audience, young pre-teens and younger, who are admiring her and thinking she's this wonderful, pure innocent person. Eighteen is awfully young for this kind of display."

"I'm devastated because I have an 8-year-old for which I now have to have an explanation," said another Los Angeles-area mother, Rosie Konkel. "She's always looked at this character as a very smart and proper young lady."

Huh? 2 mothers that have seen the image? How, what, where and why were they looking/searching/whatever at the image? It's not like something like this is plastered just anywhere, so for those people that have seen the image, they must have heard about it and searched for it or something. It's doubtful you're going to see it on TV on the evening news or in any respectable newspaper, so the fact is, if you're going to search for it on the net, quit moaning and if you have any kind of decent filtering on the computer, kids aren't going to see it.

I must admit though, it's a nice pic
