The Great Size Divide: Why XXL and 2XL Are Not the Same

It’s a tale as old as time, or at least as old as ready-to-wear clothing: you grab what you think is your size, only to find it either swimming on you or restricting your every move. This confusion is amplified when we delve into the seemingly interchangeable world of XXL and 2XL. Many shoppers, and even some retailers, use these terms synonymously, but a closer look reveals a subtle yet significant difference that can make or break your wardrobe choices. The core of the discrepancy lies in the sizing conventions adopted by different manufacturers and for different types of clothing. Generally, XXL is an extension of standard alpha sizing (S, M, L, XL), while 2XL often signifies a true "plus" or "big and tall" size. "I used to just assume they were the same," admits Sarah Jenkins, a 34-year-old marketing professional. A Wii shortage

Nintendo are going to lose Xmas.

You'd think that by now, there would be 1000's of Wii's on their way to stores ready to be plonked up on the shelves to be sold to the awaiting public ... no. DS's are plentiful and you can get one pretty much everywhere, but if you're after a Wii, you'll be lucky to get one before Xmas.

Many will be making a big profit on eBay because of the lack of retail units since it's hard to find anywhere that has them in stock. It's bad that they can't supply the demand, meaning that people will either opt for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 and with the way shop staff are trained, they'll be trying to push the PS3 onto people which doesn't have many good games instead of the Xbox 360.

In my personal opinion, the Xbox 360 would be a better choice since it already has a mass catalogue of games that include the almighty Halo 3, Crackdown, Dead Rising, FlatOut Ultimate Carnage and the long awaited Assassin's Creed. It also has a great selection of arcade games available on the Xbox Live Marketplace as well as demo's of almost every game ready to be downloaded.

On a side note, does anyone watch Private Practise? Have you noticed that whenever someone has been playing a handheld system, it's been the PSP (PlayStation Portable) and not a DS? Last weeks Life was good how the kid managed to use his Xbox (original) to hide files, I wonder how he modded it! ;)
