More overpackaging fail

I've been on a bit of a spend lately with recent purchases including a Creative ZEN X-Fi2 8GB (X-Fi2 US version) of which I'm happy about, but would be a bit happier if the radio was stronger.

Anyway, that's not what the post is about, it's to do with one of my little rants I have now and then about how stuff has too much packaging, last time it was amazon that overpacked the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 as posted here, now it's Play.com's turn.

..inside, there was a jiffy envelope of which was cut in half for 'padding', if it was whole, it could have possibly contained the product that I had purchased...

..but hold on, it seems not only do Play.com overdo it with the packaging, so do SanDisk. I mean, what's the point in putting all that packaging around something that is only around 3cm long, 2cm wide and about 1mm thick?!

So there you have it. I'm not one of these green eco-warriors desperately trying to save the planet, but I do care about excess and recycle whatever I can to do my bit, just a pity businesses aren't doing the same.

GTA SA PC WTF LOL

I completed Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the PS2 ages ago, not 100% with all tags tagged and whatever, but the main game completed. That's why just the other day, I thought I'd take a look at the PC version to see if it was any different and strangely enough, even though I've only played the first half a dozen missions, it's not too different. One thing I was a bit disappointed with was that it doesn't quite support the Xbox 360 pad. It's fine for moving around and doing stuff, but the right analogue stick doesn't work and would be ideal for looking around if it did work in the same way as on the PS2. I've kinda got used to using the keyboard and mouse now, I'm pretty handy with the keyboard when driving and can pull of some good driving skills which I couldn't do with a pad, so I guess I'll just stick to that!

How to change the R4DS theme.ini

Putting a skin on the R4DS is easy, it's just the matter of making 4 8bit or 24bit bitmap (.bmp) images, naming them correctly and transferring them onto the R4 (well, Micro SD card). Making the skin 'work' better is how the text looks and that's where the theme.ini file comes in. In that file are the 'color' commands to tell the R4 what colour text and stuff should be and this post is to show you which 'color' is for what. You can download a basic ini file from here which has the info in the pic on the right there (click for bigger pic) --> There isn't a specific way to 'tell' you how to change the theme.ini, it's just a case of opening it up in notepad and changing the values of each hex number, there's a chart below which has all the basic colours, but if you're after a more obscure colour, using a paint/photo imaging program would be more useful.
