Gok Wan hits Birmingham

Most UK TV viewers (and maybe some overseas viewers too) have heard about Gok Wan and his duckling to swan program, How To Look Good Naked in which he takes a pretty drab woman, gives her some confidence and a makeover and then unleashes them onto unsuspecting (well, maybe not since we all now know that the woman drops her robe at the end, giving a cheeky brief 'behind' shot) public that happen to be wherever they're shooting and are basically encouraged to be part of a supporting crowd as she and models parade up and down a catwalk in some kind of fashion show.

Whilst walking into the Bullring, a booming voice could be heard and with an incling of who it could be, carried on walking to find Gok Wan jeering on the crowd as models were walking down the catwalk.

I've been to several Most Haunted Live events and so am quite used to how 'live recording' (they record certain bits before it goes live like the 'welcome' intro), but due to the crowd not being lively enough, it had to be shot again for sound reasons.

Ruth, the 'contestant' is blurred in the pic since she was doing her little turn on the catwalk while Gok was giving her encouraging words and getting the crowd to give some cheers.

It was a nice experience and a surprise to get to see Gok Wan in person, glad the kids had a day off for teachers training now!

GTA SA PC WTF LOL

I completed Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the PS2 ages ago, not 100% with all tags tagged and whatever, but the main game completed. That's why just the other day, I thought I'd take a look at the PC version to see if it was any different and strangely enough, even though I've only played the first half a dozen missions, it's not too different. One thing I was a bit disappointed with was that it doesn't quite support the Xbox 360 pad. It's fine for moving around and doing stuff, but the right analogue stick doesn't work and would be ideal for looking around if it did work in the same way as on the PS2. I've kinda got used to using the keyboard and mouse now, I'm pretty handy with the keyboard when driving and can pull of some good driving skills which I couldn't do with a pad, so I guess I'll just stick to that!

How to change the R4DS theme.ini

Putting a skin on the R4DS is easy, it's just the matter of making 4 8bit or 24bit bitmap (.bmp) images, naming them correctly and transferring them onto the R4 (well, Micro SD card). Making the skin 'work' better is how the text looks and that's where the theme.ini file comes in. In that file are the 'color' commands to tell the R4 what colour text and stuff should be and this post is to show you which 'color' is for what. You can download a basic ini file from here which has the info in the pic on the right there (click for bigger pic) --> There isn't a specific way to 'tell' you how to change the theme.ini, it's just a case of opening it up in notepad and changing the values of each hex number, there's a chart below which has all the basic colours, but if you're after a more obscure colour, using a paint/photo imaging program would be more useful.
