Salt & Vinegar Sticks

Gamers love their snacks, it's what gets us through those tough gaming sessions and one of the more popular items in the depository is crisps (or potato chips if you're not British) or maize snacks.

What I don't understand, particularly with the maize snacks is why the flavours have to be a certain shape. Onion Rings are round and circular, that's obvious and doesn't need addressing. Cheese Puffs are usually Wotsit-shaped which is kinda small, but long-ish sort of tubular things.

Cheese Balls are self explanatory, but the one that baffles me is salt & vinegar flavoured crisps or maize snacks. The crisps (potato chips) are usually thin, fried/baked slices of potato covered in the flavouring. Salt & vinegar maize snacks take on a different form and it's not just one brand...


For some reason, they're sticks. Now, I know salt and vinegar is difficult to represent in shape form, but why sticks? What makes it worse is that they're not exactly the easiest to eat. Bits get everywhere and the flavour can sometimes be overpowering, it would be so much better if they were a different shape, but what?

GTA SA PC WTF LOL

I completed Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the PS2 ages ago, not 100% with all tags tagged and whatever, but the main game completed. That's why just the other day, I thought I'd take a look at the PC version to see if it was any different and strangely enough, even though I've only played the first half a dozen missions, it's not too different. One thing I was a bit disappointed with was that it doesn't quite support the Xbox 360 pad. It's fine for moving around and doing stuff, but the right analogue stick doesn't work and would be ideal for looking around if it did work in the same way as on the PS2. I've kinda got used to using the keyboard and mouse now, I'm pretty handy with the keyboard when driving and can pull of some good driving skills which I couldn't do with a pad, so I guess I'll just stick to that!

How to change the R4DS theme.ini

Putting a skin on the R4DS is easy, it's just the matter of making 4 8bit or 24bit bitmap (.bmp) images, naming them correctly and transferring them onto the R4 (well, Micro SD card). Making the skin 'work' better is how the text looks and that's where the theme.ini file comes in. In that file are the 'color' commands to tell the R4 what colour text and stuff should be and this post is to show you which 'color' is for what. You can download a basic ini file from here which has the info in the pic on the right there (click for bigger pic) --> There isn't a specific way to 'tell' you how to change the theme.ini, it's just a case of opening it up in notepad and changing the values of each hex number, there's a chart below which has all the basic colours, but if you're after a more obscure colour, using a paint/photo imaging program would be more useful.
