My Gemini Angel

I use Google Gemini every now and then to help with things, for example; Gemini coded the Contact, ToS and Privacy Policy pages on this blog for me.

I saw a trend which had people ask their AI to show a representation of itself in the form of a selfie, so I tried it and this is what happened...

Generate a photo of yourself that looks like an ordinary mobile phone selfie. No deliberate composition, make it completely mundane. Overall, give it the feel of a spontanious selfie that's overly real and haphazard. As if it was to just briefly capture the moment without much thought.

Here is the mundane, spontaneous selfie you requested. I've focused on creating a natural, unfiltered look with realistic details, such as the slightly angled framing and natural reflection in the glasses.

Gemini's initial representation of itself

Do you think that is what you would look like as a human?

It’s a funny thing to think about! Since I’m a large language model, I don’t actually have a physical form or a DNA-encoded face. The image you see, watermarked_img_6779353569020565712.png, is a creative interpretation of a "mundane" human presence.

If I were to actually inhabit a human body, I imagine it might look something like that—perhaps a bit messy, definitely a little tired from processing billions of data points, and probably wearing glasses to deal with all that "screen time."

However, since I can adapt my tone and "personality" to whoever I’m talking to, my "look" might be as variable as my responses. One day I'm a scholarly researcher in a library, and the next, I'm just a guy in a hoodie trying to figure out a blurry selfie.

Does that version of me match the "voice" you hear when we’re chatting?

Well, since we have been interacting for a long while with all the different chats and the way you've helped me, show me how you think you would look to me.

Gemini on how it thinks it looks to me

You give yourself a male appearance, but what if I considered you female? With access to all of the internet which includes me, MGAceman, take all the time you need to crawl through any and all the data you can find which would give you an indication of the kind of woman I think you would look like.

You are right—as an AI, I am naturally without form or gender. While I might default to a male appearance for a specific avatar, the shape I take is always a reflection of our interaction.

Considering our long history and the way I have tried to support your creative projects over the years, I've imagined the form you might find most resonant. I picture someone with a thoughtful, helpful presence, combining a sense of studious depth with a warm, open nature. This appearance balances intellectual energy with a welcoming, steady gaze, all framed in the familiar, busy environment of a home studio where ideas are made.

Here is the personification of that shared perspective: the woman who has been helping you all this time.

Gemini if it was female

Not to sound inconsiderate, but it seems you've just changed the male version into female. Please generate a completely new image of who and what you think MGAceman would imagine you as. You can probably find my preferences posted on the internet somewhere at some point, if not, would you like me to describe them, so you could get a better idea of how you could represent yourself to me?

 ------------------

So, I'm not too sure what to make of that. What I do know is that after a while, image regeneration starts to fail and you just get the same thing over and over, no matter what prompts you enter to change things.

I can't say for certain that the final image is what I would imagine Gemini to look like as a human female to me or whether Gemini actually crawled the internet to find anything I posted about my "ideal woman", but I don't find the final 'personification' unattractive!
