Well unfortunately, my time with Openvibe is over.
It was a decent app for a while, but constant problems with Bluesky and my following feed not loading, I was using it less and less.
Now they're going Pro and I can't justify paying for a broken app or one that needs constant attention to work properly.
I've been using it from near the start of it's existence, it worked well and allowed me to crosspost between Threads, Mastodon and Bluesky which was handy for me since I'm mostly decentralised.
As of today, June 1st 2026, they introduced their paid plans and the restrictions involved. They said this...
Pro is for those who want more:
— Openvibe (@openvibe_social) June 1, 2026
Unlimited connected accounts
Multiple profiles
Custom color themes
Custom app icons
Remove branding on cross-posts
So, first everything remains free, but then you're limited to one profile and two social accounts? AND with added branding on each post which will eat into your character limit.
I can't justify paying £17.49pa for an app that barely works how it should, especially with the issues it has with Bluesky.
I guess I'll have to see what people are saying is the next best free app. It's not that I'm cheap and that I think Openvibe going Pro is bad, I knew it was going to happen.
I'm not paying for something I can't get full functionality from, even though I'm on Android 16 and One UI 8 (Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra).
