DSTT setup with Moonshell

I have an R4DS card, obviously, since I've done so many posts about it and even got a load of themes available to download, but I recently got a DSTT card since quite a few other people wanted one and because of saving money due to bulk buying and charging people a bit more for the card (plus a 2GB MicroSD card), I pretty much got mine for free.

Anyway, I was bored earlier today and decided to make a quick video on how to set it up (basically just transferring the firmware files onto the card), adding Moonshell (same thing) and putting a video file on. If you want to see the full widescreen version of the vid, click on the vid to go to the YouTube page.

IMVU holliebabie

holliebabieIt's been a while since some idiot has used my hotmail address to register for something, what makes this one a little strange is that the person is apparently female or just some guy pretending to be female in an effort to fool other guys into a trap.

The reason I'm guessing it could be a guy is due to using my email address that contains aceman, not woman, girl or any other female representation. Another reason would be because I know that sad lonely guys out there like to seek attention by taking on a female persona online, not because they're gay, I don't think it really has much to do with their sexual orientation, but probably because they're pathetic little teenagers with nothing better to do and instead of going out with friends to have a real social life, they're destined to a box of tissues and a computer with an internet connection.

An example would be one time when I was in There and a female avatar came up to me asking all kinds of stuff and basically to make out with them, but before they could ask, I said that I wasn't going to and was told to suck their dick. Oops, a quick attempt to cover it up by saying, "...the one I don't have.." didn't hold any ground with me since it was too late and I knew it was really some dweeby Philipino because that 'game' has them doing that kind of thing all the time, but enough about that as I think I covered that in a previous post.

So anyway, Guest_holliebabie, you registered on IMVU using my email address and as the tradition goes, I request the password of the account, log in and delete it. Doing that is not illegal since I'm not hacking into anything or comprimising any private information, anyone that uses an email address they don't own or have access to should really be careful when using them to register for stuff. If you use my details to register for shit, I have no way of contacting you and so the only thing for me to do is close/cancel/delete whatever it is and if that's a problem, don't come crying to me about it.

Doom³ revisited

After playing the Left 4 Dead demo a while, I felt like having a go at a game that's no nonsense blasting the crap out of zombie/monsters/miscellaneous creepy creatures, so I thought I'd reinstall Doom³.

Doom 3I've had it since it was released, the 3 CD special edition that was in the cardboard sleeve/box, but I didn't get around to playing it all the way through.

Doom 3 boxSo I've been playing it for a few hours in the last couple of days and have gotten up to where I was before. Of course I'm using Godmode, Sentry Guard mod and Duct Tape mod, but that's how I want to play and am enjoying it!

Doom 3 pic 2I'm also thinking of installing Armed and Dangerous to play through that again, I kind of zipped through it before and finished it in a day, but I'll take more time to enjoy it and have plenty of fun this time.

How not to save the planet

It's all very well recycling stuff, it's something I do by putting recycable stuff into a bag that gets collected every week, but let's see how someone like Amazon aren't exactly helping (this also applies to any other companies that like to over-package stuff).

1. Check the dimensions of the box

Nothing like a big box arriving, kinda like Xmas come early, so let's open it...

2. Lots of brown paper cushioning

No need for bubble wrap it seems, just a load of brown paper to keep whatever is in the box safe from any bumps and knocks, so what's the product in the box?

3. Paper removed to reveal the contents.

What was the point in all that paper? It wasn't even wrapped around the product in the way oversized box, product box dimensions are 9" (23cm) high, 7.5 (19cm) width and 3.5/8" (8.5cm) depth. Compare those to the measurements of the box and you'll see that you would be able to fit at least 10 Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000's in there.

4. Trying to keep it minimal.

Logitech are pretty good with their packaging, but still manage to bulk things up a little too much, the packaging for the webcam could have been reduced by around a quarter.

5. What all the fuss was about.

There isn't a lot to the actual product which is why there still needs to be some kind of law about unnecessary over-packaging, not just of the box retail companies ship stuff in, but the box of the product that manufacturers package their goods in. In cases like this, it isn't the packaging that sells the product, it's the fact that it's probably still the best webcam around due to it's review scores, capabilities and the Carl Zeiss lens... oh, and the price of the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 Webcam is only £49 (at time of posting as it seems amazon like to change the price of stuff every day, so it could be higher or lower than £49 if you're reading this on any other day after it was posted), making it quite affordable for everyone!

Katy Perry's boobs

Almost...

Seems she had what the Daily Mail are calling "an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction", why? I dunno, but you don't hear all us red blooded males complaining.

Katy PerryJudging by that malfunction, we almost got a glimpse of something else.

This girl just gets better every time there's news about her!

The Sky has fallen

Well, I first subscribed to Sky satellite television back in 1996, it was great to have so many channels and especially the foreign ones like RTL and Pro-7 which gave us great softcore porn that had to be paid for in the UK.Sky 1996 pamphletBut now the time has come to cancel the subscription to the service that raises £1 every year for shit channels that nobody wanted or asked for and will probably never even be watched. I rang up to cancel, spoke to a guy for about 2 minutes, got put on hold for 2 minutes and got cut off, then when I called back and was connected to a rather sweet sounding woman called Helen, she said she would let the manager know about what had happened since it appears I had apparently not replied or something. Yeah, well done dufus, you say, "Let me just put you on hold" .. "Ok" .. *slience for another 2 minutes ... brrrrrrrr* and I'm the one that's not replying or saying anything, dick.

Well as nice as it was talking to her, I just wasn't going to change my mind about cancelling since we can get a better deal from Virgin Media. Yes, I know blah they're crap blah customer service wiffle, but to be honest, never had a problem with them, am I really the only person I know not to have had a problem with anyone or anything? Anyway, went through the usual efforts to try and keep me as a customer, even offering a refurbished Sky+ box for £30 and installation for £30, which if I wasn't cancelling, would never have known about and very likely never offered. Over 30 minutes later and I finally get to cancel, but as I forgot about having to give 30 days notice, it will cancel on December 10th, meaning I have to pay for another month and ask for a refund of the credit I'll be due after it's cancelled.Sky 1996 Pamphlet insideSo, as from November 20th, we'll be paying £41.50 a month for the Broadband XL, phone and L TV package, cheaper than what I could get it for with Sky, mainly due to having to pay for a BT landline and although Sky can offer free line rental, it wouldn't be until the 12 month contract with BT ended, so for now, I'm happy with that and it's gonna save a whole lot of money.

Just in case you're wondering, the images are of the pamphlet I got when first subscribing to Sky back in November 1996.
