Discovering the Airstrip in Outbound

Welcome back to another Outbound update! In Episode 30, Paprika and I took the camper van deep into the desert biome, where the biggest hurdle was just keeping the engine cool.

Driving through the desert heat really tests your patience, if you push the vehicle too hard up those steep slopes, the temperature gauge spikes fast, so I had to take plenty of short breaks along the way.

Those pit stops turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

While letting the engine cool down at campsites, I managed to stack up plenty of Hyperfiber and finally found some salt to upgrade my gear at the sewing table.

I even snagged a golden bolete for fresh food and scavenged through scattered crates tucked along the winding roads.

The real breakthrough came when we finally tracked down Hardened Metal after searching for what felt like ages.

Having those materials stocked up meant we could finally push forward to our main destination for the day: a location called The Runway Rest.

This abandoned airstrip is easily one of the coolest landmarks we've found so far.

It's littered with vintage cargo planes, spare mechanical parts, and a terminal system tied to a signal decryptor.

After reading a maintenance log about rogue autopilot systems, it became clear that our next objective sits way up on the tabletop cliff.

And the only way up there? A hot air balloon that needs redwood planks for fuel.
