Prime Big Deal Days

I Stabbed 1,000 Barnacles & Built a Metal Detector!

If you’ve been following my latest indie simulation obsession, you'll know I'm still completely hooked on Son of Beach.

Honestly, for what I originally thought was just a demo, there is a ridiculous amount of content packed in here.

In episode 4, things get a bit tedious, but in that classic, cozy game way.

I spent what felt like an eternity literally stabbing barnacles off a boat with a knife.

The diver guy actually expects me to scrape them all off in one go?

Yeah, it ain't happening.

I also got super distracted hoarding glass shards and chasing down crabs on the shoreline because, apparently, that’s how you make the big bucks.

But the real highlight of this recording session?

I finally scrounged up enough resources, including exactly five pieces of metal to craft the metal detector!

A first-person perspective holding a freshly crafted metal detector over a sandy beach in the game Son of Beach.
It completely changes the beach-combing dynamic, and I even dug up a legendary collectible, though I'm still figuring out how the creative market works so I can actually sell it.

During the gameplay, I ended up on a massive tangent about getting used to my in-ear monitors.

Upgrading to IEMs like the Moondrop Chu II has been amazing for game audio, but talking while they are sealed tightly in my ears makes it feel like I'm speaking with my fingers plugged in!

I have to actively stop myself from shouting.

I also ended up rambling about grabbing a ridiculously juicy burger from Burger & Sauce in Birmingham, because why wouldn't I?

Check out the full video below to watch me leave massive, unfillable holes all over the beach.
