From Outbound to Solarpunk: A New Cozy Adventure

Well, I went and did it. If you have been keeping up with my Outbound series, you know I have been debating trying out Solarpunk for a while now.

They have a very similar cozy vibe, and since I had a discount code for Loaded.com, I finally took the plunge!

Welcome to the very first episode of my Solarpunk playthrough.

Right out of the gate, I was basically flying blind.

The game drops you onto these gorgeous floating islands, and you just have to figure out how to survive.

I spent the first chunk of the recording trying to get my bearings, figuring out how to craft a simple pickaxe, gathering sticks and stones, and setting up my basic crafting and research tables.

Staying alive is obviously the top priority.

I managed to get a little farm going with some berry bushes for a steady food and hydration supply, and I even planted some cotton seeds so I can craft cloth later on.

I also made sure to get a rain collector researched because having clean drinking water is absolutely essential up here in the clouds.

I did run into a bit of a snag towards the end.

I gathered all the materials I needed to craft a bed, only to find out you actually need a roof over your head to place it down!

So, it looks like my next major project is going to be chopping down a whole lot of trees to build a proper foundation and a shelter.

I am already loving the relaxing atmosphere of this game, and there is so much left to explore.

Check out the video below to see how my first day unfolded, and let me know in the comments if you have any tips for a Solarpunk beginner. Enjoy!
