I am diving into something a little different and incredibly fun for the channel.
It is no secret I absolutely love checking out quirky simulation and indie games, and this one caught my eye right away.
It is a brand new demo for a game called Zero to South, and it basically asks the question: what if you started a taxi service in the middle of a post apocalyptic wasteland?
I fired this up thinking it would be a straightforward driving simulator, but it throws a lot at you right from the jump.
You literally have to piece your car together, scavenge for vital resources like fuel and water, and even figure out how to spray paint your scrap heap to look like a proper yellow cab.
The driving mechanics have a really nice feel to them, but the true challenge is just keeping the vehicle running while surviving the harsh elements out on the road.
I actually had a bit of a cold while recording this gameplay, so my voice is slightly wheezy.
I just had to power through it, though, because the game was simply too good to put down.
Things get pretty chaotic out there, at one point, I ran into some extremely aggressive bandits who decided my freshly painted taxi looked like a great target to wreck.
I had to throw some punches to defend my ride and dismantle their sketchy roadblocks.
Along the way, we scrounged for supplies like canned beans and frozen pizzas just to keep pushing south.
You can watch the full gameplay video embedded below to see exactly how I handled the apocalypse.
If you are into survival driving games and weird indie concepts, this demo is definitely worth checking out!
